Cortemilia is a small town of about 2,500 people. It is
the most important town in the area named
Alta Langa, a region of hills and hazelnut
trees (the famous local variety is named
IGP “Tonda gentile”, that is
“round and sweet”), vineyards
and truffles.

People are friendly, the town offers a plethora
of monuments and works of art, tourists
have many opportunities to find out about
local traditions and culture.
The beauty of the landscape charms tourists
from all over the world who never forget
the magic of these hills.
Local people care for their environment
and actively contribute to preserve it:
the river Bormida which meanders down in
the valley of Cortemilia, hosts many species
of fish and birds like herons and wild ducks.
